I am back from my little break. I know it has been a while since I last posted, but I had several other projects (and one Masters degree) that required my special attention. Now, back to our regularly scheduled message…Oh yes Arizona, it is that time of year again, in those parts of our great state where we have trees, their leaves are beginning to turn magnificent shades of orange, brown and yellow. Especially up north in the White Mountains and San Francisco Peaks you can feel the change of the seasons.

This is a great time to get out and experience the wonderful sights, smells and experiences of the great state of Arizona. Regardless of whether you are spending time up at the ski run at Snowbowl before the first snow comes in, or if you are over enjoying the majesty of the Chiricahuas, or spending time down in Wilcox at one of the local farms picking fresh produce…now is the time to get out and enjoy the state. No matter your choice, you can easily find a cabin or bed and breakfast to provide you with shelter and hospitality for the evening.

If you want to get in that last round of boating up at Apache Lake, or some fishing over at Greer, there are plenty of nice family and pet friendly cabins in those areas. My brother-in-law and several of his friends love to go over to Hannegans Meadow this time of year to spend some time stalking the Elk and seeing what they look like this year. These guys are serious hunters and love nothing more than to spend some quality time out there in the woods. Take a little time on line, find the right Arizona cabin for you and then get going. In the Arizona Mountains this time of year doesn’t last long. Soon snow and old man winter will be upon us…and then we will have to shift our focus to winter sports.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, there are many wonderful cabins, cottages, and lodges to visit in the great state of Arizona. Every time I think I have found my favorite site and location, a new one emerges. Today I am going to tell you about <a href=” http://arizonacabinguide.com/2008/11/05/az-cabins-%e2%80%93-flagstaff-cabins/”>Flagstaff Arizona cabins that are simply beautiful. Comfi Cottages of Flagstaff are the ideal place foe a weekend getaway. These unique Flagstaff cabins are styled after cottages that were prevalent in the 1920’s…very quaint. Additionally, these cozy AZ cabins come with a full range of accommodations that will help you slide right into your vacation routine and not leave you wanting for anything.

One of the other bonuses to the location of these AZ cabins is that they are located close to downtown Flagstaff which allows you to enjoy the historic features and attractions of the city without a long drive. If you have never been to Flagstaff it is certainly worth the visit. My family loves, and can’t wait to get back!

Now get out there and enjoy AZ!

We have covered a multitude of AZ cabins and lodges over the last several months, but we have yet to speak about two of the most popular spots to take an Arizona mountain vacation – Flagstaff, and Prescott. Flagstaff AZ and Prescott AZ are located close to one another and relatively close to the community of Sedona ( where we spoke about other AZ cabins). Last year my family and I were able to get up to Flagstaff and it was simply outstanding. Not overly large, but it had all the amenities we are used to. The mountains are spectacular, and the town was very nice. If you are going to Flagstaff, you want to consider staying in a Flagstaff cabin. One of the sites I found that provides information is the Coconino National Forest website. They actually rent cabins to the public that are located within the national forests, and will allow you to experience the area on a budget travel allowance. Very cool. They have several different cabins to choose from, and they all look very nice.
Prescott cabins are every bit as impressive as those in Flagstaff (or Big Bear cabins or Tahoe cabins for that matter). Prescott is another one of those must visit sites if you are coming to Arizona. It is incredibly scenic and well worth the trip. Just as in all of our other communities, there are a multitude of AZ cabins that are available to rent in this city. While I was poking around online, I found this nice little site (prescottcabinrentals.com) that actually allows cabin owners in Prescott to list their properties as being available or not. The site also allows potential renters to peruse the current inventory. The site is not designed so well, but the content is great.

Next week I may also write a couple of articles about cabins available in our sister states…cabins in Big Bear and Tahoe. We’ll see.

Now get out there and enjoy AZ!
